Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 24, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Cozy Homes Hub ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit cozyhomeshub.com (the "Site"). It applies to all visitors, regardless of where you are located.

We've written this in plain language on purpose. If anything here is unclear, email us at contact@cozyhomeshub.com and we'll explain it.

1. Who we are

Cozy Homes Hub is an independently operated home decor publication. We publish articles and images about interior styling. We do not sell physical products, and we do not operate user accounts, logins, or subscriptions.

Data controller contact: contact@cozyhomeshub.com

2. Information you give us directly

The only place you can voluntarily submit information is our contact form. When you use it, we receive:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your subject line (optional)
  • The content of your message

We use this only to read and reply to your message and to keep a record of the correspondence. We do not add contact form submissions to a marketing list, and we do not sell or rent them.

3. Information collected automatically

Like nearly every website, our servers and third-party services record certain technical information automatically when you load a page:

  • IP address (which may be truncated or anonymized by some providers)
  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system and device type
  • Screen size and general device capabilities
  • Referring URL β€” the page or search engine that sent you here
  • Pages viewed, time on page, and scroll or click behavior
  • Approximate geographic location derived from IP address, usually at city or country level
  • Date and time of your visit
  • Language and regional preferences

This data is used to keep the Site running, diagnose errors, measure which articles are useful, and β€” through our advertising partners β€” serve relevant ads.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

We and our partners use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies. Because that topic deserves its own detail, we've documented it fully on our Cookie Policy page, including the categories of cookies used, who sets them, and how to refuse or delete them.

In summary, we use:

  • Strictly necessary storage β€” required for basic page function and for remembering your consent choice.
  • Preference storage β€” remembers settings like your chosen language.
  • Analytics cookies β€” help us understand aggregate traffic patterns.
  • Advertising cookies β€” used by third-party ad vendors to select and measure ads.

Where required by law, advertising and analytics cookies are only set after you give consent through our cookie banner, and you can withdraw that consent at any time.

5. Advertising and Google AdSense

We fund this Site through display advertising. This means third-party vendors, including Google, serve ads on our pages.

Important points about how that works:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this Site or other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our Site and/or other sites on the internet.
  • You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings at https://adssettings.google.com.
  • You can opt out of personalized advertising from many other vendors at https://www.aboutads.info/choices and https://optout.networkadvertising.org.
  • If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we present a consent choice before non-essential advertising cookies are set, in line with applicable law.

Opting out of personalized ads does not remove ads β€” it means the ads you see will be less relevant to you.

Third-party ad vendors operate under their own privacy policies, which we do not control. We recommend reviewing them directly.

6. Analytics

We use analytics services to understand aggregate reader behavior β€” which articles get read, which get abandoned, where readers come from. This helps us decide what to write next.

Analytics data is used in aggregate. We do not use it to build individual profiles, and we do not attempt to identify individual readers from it.

7. Third-party services embedded on the Site

Some features on our pages are provided by third parties, and loading them may transfer certain technical information (such as your IP address) to those providers:

  • Hosting and site infrastructure β€” the platform that serves our pages and stores our content.
  • Image and asset delivery β€” content delivery networks that serve our photographs and illustrations.
  • Advertising networks β€” as described in Section 5.
  • Analytics providers β€” as described in Section 6.
  • Social save buttons β€” for example, "Save to Pinterest" functionality on our images.
  • Support link β€” an external "Buy me a coffee" link. Clicking it takes you to a third-party platform governed by its own privacy policy.

8. How we use information

We use the information described above to:

  • Deliver and display the Site correctly on your device
  • Reply to messages you send through the contact form
  • Understand which content is useful and improve it
  • Detect, prevent, and investigate abuse, spam, and security incidents
  • Serve and measure advertising, which funds the Site
  • Comply with legal obligations

9. Legal bases for processing (EEA / UK readers)

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process personal data on these bases:

  • Consent β€” for analytics and advertising cookies, and for any optional communications. You may withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legitimate interests β€” for basic site security, abuse prevention, aggregate performance measurement, and responding to enquiries you initiate.
  • Legal obligation β€” where we are required to retain or disclose information by law.

10. Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell your personal information for money.

We share information only in these situations:

  • With service providers who host the Site, deliver assets, provide analytics, or serve advertising β€” each acting under their own privacy terms.
  • For legal reasons β€” if required by law, court order, or a valid governmental request, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
  • In a business transfer β€” if the Site is ever sold or transferred, information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We would update this page if that happened.

11. Data retention

  • Contact form messages: retained for as long as needed to handle the enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards for record-keeping, then deleted.
  • Analytics data: retained in aggregate according to the retention settings of our analytics provider.
  • Advertising data: retained by third-party vendors under their own retention policies.
  • Server logs: retained for a short period for security and troubleshooting.

12. Security

We use HTTPS across the entire Site and rely on reputable infrastructure providers with their own security controls. However, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please don't send sensitive personal information β€” financial details, identification numbers, health information β€” through our contact form. We never ask for it.

13. International transfers

Our service providers may process and store data in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, these transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms offered by the relevant provider.

14. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights:

  • Access β€” request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction β€” ask us to fix inaccurate data
  • Deletion β€” ask us to delete your data
  • Restriction β€” ask us to limit how we use it
  • Objection β€” object to processing based on legitimate interests
  • Portability β€” receive your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent β€” at any time, without affecting prior lawful processing
  • Complain β€” lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

California residents (CCPA/CPRA): You have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell personal information for monetary value. However, the use of advertising cookies for cross-context behavioral advertising may be considered "sharing" under California law β€” you can opt out through our cookie settings or the industry opt-out links in Section 5. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

To exercise any right, email contact@cozyhomeshub.com with a description of your request. We may need to ask for information to verify your identity, and we'll respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

15. Children's privacy

This Site is intended for a general adult audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

16. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Browsers send "Do Not Track" signals inconsistently and there is no accepted industry standard for responding to them, so we do not currently respond to DNT headers. Where legally required, we honour Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as an opt-out of the sale or sharing of personal information.

17. Links to other websites

Our articles link to external sites β€” retailers, manufacturers, reference pages, paint brand color libraries. Once you follow one of those links, you're on a site we don't control, governed by that site's privacy policy. We're not responsible for their practices.

18. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our practices, partners, or legal obligations change. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be made prominent on the Site. Continuing to use the Site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
